The Challenge
Robertshaw, a reputable appliance component manufacturer, has been a global leader in the integrated flow component and systems industry for over 125 years. Since the beginning, they’ve prided themselves on their commitment to innovation and supreme support to their OEM and distributor customer base. However, after over a century in the industry and a product catalog that wasn’t slowing down anytime soon, Robertshaw knew it was time for a website revamp.
Robertshaw’s website up to 2024 had a lot of information — so much so that internal employees, OEMs and aftermarket customers were often unable to find the solution, product or innovation they were looking for. From disorganization to outdated technical elements, inconsistent branding and poor user-experience, Robertshaw knew it was time for a change and were ready to truly position themselves as the innovative leaders they were.
The Solution
A full new website for a 125-year-old company isn’t an easy feat — but Pepper Group rose to the challenge and, in collaboration with Robertshaw, created a final product that truly communicates the brand message of ‘Innovation Drives Everything We Do.’
After an extensive planning process, Pepper Group dove into the creative concepts for the new website, with a heavy focus on the innovation that Robertshaw felt was core to who they were. ‘Innovation Drives Everything We Do’ became not only the hero message viewers saw on the new site, but the message that drove the entire site’s look, feel and strategy.
Apart from new messaging, the Pepper Group team focused on design work that elevated this innovative theme, increased SEO research, provided a user-experience-friendly sitemap and placed a heavy focus on Robertshaw’s replacement parts catalog. The team created a filter-and-search functionality where users could easily find the category, series or part they were looking for and the associated literature in a timely manner.
The Pepper Group team didn’t stop at positioning and organization and took efforts a step further by establishing easy-to-manage technology tools — including a cross-competitor reference, where aftermarket users could easily find a Robertshaw equivalent to their part number and a global distributor locator tool. Coupled with high-level programming, multi-language functionality and new innovation-style blog posts, the new website met functional, technical and brand goals.
