For almost all of our 25 years we’ve been sending out our PepperMill newsletter. During that time there have been plenty of ups and downs, but never before have we experienced a pandemic. Seems like all bets are off on “normal.”

I’m happy to say that the Pepper team was able to easily transition from office to home. While we love the camaraderie of the office, we are nearly as efficient at home. I doubt if our clients could even tell when we switched over. For this we are very thankful.

We want you to know that we’re here to serve. Times like these can mean the difference between surviving, or not, can be a small margin. There’s no doubt that we’re going to come out of this, and when we do, marketing is going to be one of the most important tools in your box.

If you’re strapped right now and conserving cash, we get it, and might be able to help. Let’s get creative in a whole different way. Are there some projects that you know you need done, but need a little flexibility on stretching payments? We can help. Do you want to make sure you’re ready to go when the light turns green? Let’s get you in position.

Saying that, “It’s going to be OK,” seems a little hollow. What we can say is, “Let’s do whatever we can to win back market share and build relationships.” We’ve always considered our relationships as partnerships. Together, let’s play smart and aggressive to ensure we’re leading the way and looking at your competitors in the rear-view mirror.

“Stay at home” does not mean “stay behind.”

A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner, neither do uninterrupted prosperity and success qualify for usefulness and happiness. The storms of adversity, like those of the ocean, rouse the faculties, and excite the invention, prudence, skill and fortitude of the voyager.
